Navigating Modern Nutrition: Overcoming Hidden Obstacles to Weight Loss

In observation, having been in the field for 38 years, I have noticed a marked increase in the challenges people face when trying to lose weight, which I believe is largely attributable to inflammation caused by additives in our food. Around 15 years ago, there was a significant shift in the ease with which individuals could shed body fat, likely due to changes in how food is processed and the introduction of genetically modified products. Today, we are witnessing widespread digestive issues, such as gluten and lactose intolerance, which I suspect are linked to artificial additives found not only in our food, but also in our environment, such as the air and water. These changes seem to alter our body's ability to process food effectively and contribute to inflammation that affects the entire immune system.


Despite a growing interest in fitness, many are finding it increasingly harder to lose weight and are turning towards alternatives like medications and surgeries, which often feel more like commercial ventures rather than solutions. It concerns me that we are being steered away from natural, healthy options, ones that were more accessible in the past. While some might regard this perspective as a conspiracy theory, my experience leads me to see it as a realistic assessment of the current situation. If indeed there has been a fundamental change in our environment affecting our bodies’ ability to handle food, it raises alarming questions about the potential health challenges people will face in the next 20 years.


To address these issues, I suggest focusing on a diet rich in whole, unprocessed foods, mindfulness in meal choices, and staying informed about the origins and contents of what we consume. Additionally, regular physical activity, stress management, and consulting with professional like myself who then can suggest other alternatives so you can maintain a healthy gut microbiome which can help mitigate some of these modern-day challenges.
